One day, this homeowner in Brielle, NJ was sitting outside on his driveway, when he noticed several starlings going in and out of a small opening on his property! Since his neighbor had used Cowleys for a similar situation, he got our number from his neighbor, and called us for help. 

Once we arrived, we fully inspected the exterior and interior of his home and determined that this was the only access point that the starlings were using to infest his property. First, we carefully removed all of the nesting debris and then disinfected the area with a solution that targets and exterminates bird mites. Bird mites are parasites that feed on the blood of birds. When birds leave their nests, the mites are left behind without a suitable host for their next blood meal and will make their way into a home to feast on your pets and your family. Bird mites are the main reason why extreme care is needed when removing a nest.

After disinfecting the area, we installed Pest-Blok over that access point to prevent any future intrusions from any other nuisance birds or wildlife. As this homeowner in Brielle, NJ was organizing his basement, he heard a buzzing noise coming from the corner. As he went to investigate, he was suddenly attacked by a number of angry yellow jackets! After equipping our protective bee suit, we investigated the area where the homeowner was attacked and uncovered a rather large yellow jackets nest tucked away underneath a piece of fiberglass insulation. For treatment, we injected a knockdown aerosol application into the nest. Several moments later, we injected a knockdown dusting application. These treatments will quickly neutralize the yellow jackets.

Some time after treating the yellow jackets, we removed the nest and, with the owner's permission, the insulation that was attached to the nest, and disposed of them both properly.

After our Nuisance Wildlife team had safely and successfully removed all of the flying squirrels out of this attic in Brielle, NJ, we were sent out to disinfect the attic and add new blown-in cellulose insulation. The flying squirrels were present in the attic for quite some time and contaminated a lot of the insulation with their urine and feces. So the first we did was remove all of the contaminated & old fiberglass insulation and properly dispose of them. Once we had finished with that, we then disinfected the entire attic.

Next, we air sealed all the gaps and cracks in the attic. Doing this will eliminate air flow between the living space and the attic, which in turn improves energy efficiency. A new customer in Neptune, NJ was having an issue with starlings nesting in her chimney. Starlings are one of the most popular nuisance birds we deal with and have adapted well both in urban and rural areas. Starlings are often described as loud, obnoxious, destructive, and aggressive. They have outcompeted native birds and their massive flock sizes cause significant damage in a short period of time. The acidic droppings of starlings damage roofs, create sanitation problems, and pose a serious health hazard for families. 

First, we carefully removed the nesting debris and then disinfected the chimney with a solution that targets bird mites. If disturbed while removing, bird mites will make their way inside and quickly infest the home. After disinfecting the area we installed a chimney cap over the chimney. This heavy-duty material is constructed out of 24 Gauge Top and Flange, and 18 Gauge Galvanized Mesh. It is designed to prevent access to the chimney from all nuisance birds, bats, and all nuisance wildlife. Now the home is properly secured!

We were sent out to the home of a new customer in Neptune, NJ to handle a yellow jacket issue in one of the bedrooms. Apparently, the homeowner was remodeling the closet and discovered a large and active yellow jacket nest actually inside the wall! When we arrived we equipped our protective bee suit and treated the nest with a knockdown aerosol application.

This application is designed to eliminate the yellow jackets quickly. After a short period of time we removed the nest and disposed of it properly.
