Replacing an Old & Broken Crawl Space Door in Morganville, NJ
We were sent out to a home in Morganville, NJ to replace the broken crawl space door. The latch to the door was broken and barely hanging on, which lead to a mouse infestation in the crawl space. After our Pest Control technicians had performed a thorough rodent control service and removed the mice, we're going to exclude that area.
In order to accomplish that, we removed the old door and installed an Everlast™ door. An Everlast™ door is made from ½-in.-thick PVC plastic that will never warp, crack, shrink, require maintenance or painting and will prevent any unwanted pests and moisture from entering the crawl space. These covers, which can be installed against wood framing or masonry, close off outside air and moisture from entering the crawl space through the exterior vents. These covers not only work well, but are also aesthetically pleasing!
Repairing the Damage Done by Squirrels in Marlboro, NJ
Now that we have removed all the squirrels from this home in Marlboro, NJ and relocated them to a new, humane location, we're back at the property to repair the damage they done. The squirrels had ripped apart the shingles near the gutter to gain access to the attic. After disinfecting the area, we began to repair the damages. First, we cut a piece of sturdy metal flashing and installed it over the opening. Next, we applied roof grit to the flashing to blend it in with the color of the roof. Afterward, we applied a premium adhesive to the area and spread it across the flashing in order to hold the roof grits in place. Now the damages are repaired and the home is free of squirrels!
Unorganized Attic Gets New Blown-In Cellulose Insulation in Marlboro, NJ
After seeing our ad on our Facebook page, this homeowner in Marlboro, NJ, wanted our Attic Systems team to come out and add new blown-in insulation to his attic. Currently, the homeowner was utilizing the attic as extra storage, so it was filled with old carpets, wood, and broken chairs. With the owner's permission, we carefully disposed of all the items he and his wife no longer wanted. We also removed all the old insulation. Afterward, we installed Tight Shell Can Light Covers over the recessed lights in the attic. These are made of a fire-resistant material specifically designed to stop unwanted air leakage through the recessed lights. Afterward, we added over 10 inches of TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation.
TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation maximizes home comfort, has the highest Class-1 fire safety rating, and is resistant to mold and pests. After adding TruSoft, we installed several SilverGlo™ borders. This will prevent the insulation from overflowing onto the attic floor and make the attic look more organized.
Bald-Faced Hornets Bugging Gym Goers in Marlboro, NJ
A short while ago, we received a call from a gym owner in Marlboro, NJ, who had reported that several of his customers were getting attacked and stung by a group of hornets as they were entering and exiting the building. Once we arrived and examined the exterior of the building, we located the hornets nest in a tree, about 20 feet up, that was close to the building. We took a closer look at them and identified these stinging insects as bald-faced hornets.
Bald-faced hornets are social stinging insects that have white markings on their face. They're extremely aggressive and will sting anything that invades their space. Their stings carry venom that makes the stings hurt, itch, and swell for about 24 hours. Humans are at the same risk of allergic reactions from bald-faced hornet stings as with other insect stings. What makes them even scarier is they have smooth stingers, which means they can sting over and over again, can actually sense vibrations in the air, and remember their invader's face!
Using our extendable pole, we injected a knockdown aerosol and a knockdown liquid application directly into the hornets nest. These products are designed to exterminate the bald-faced hornets quickly. After several moments had passed, we removed the nest, and the branch it was attached to, and disposed of both of them properly.
Installing The Turtl™ in Matawan, NJ
We're at this home in Matawan, NJ to install new crawl space access door. Old-fashioned crawl space access wells are often drafty and leaky, and they can allow pests and feral animals into your home. Over time, these wells will begin to fill with leaves, plants, and debris. The wood will rot, the metal will rust, and when it rains or snows, they'll fill with water, flooding the crawl space.
To solve this problem, we removed the old & rotted crawl space door and replaced it with the Turtl™. The Turtl™ is a durable plastic crawl space access well that provides an airtight cover that serves as a crawl space access well and door combined! The rigid plastic design will hold up to daily wear and tear. Its rigid plastic design ensures that it will never rot, rust, or need paint. For increased security and protection, The Turtl™ can be secured shut with a locking device, like a door. Most importantly, The Turtl™ protects your home from water and moisture damage, keeping your crawl space safe, clean, and dry!
