Found the Access Point
Minutes into our inspection we located the main access point, which was the gable vent. The squirrels chewed and tore it apart!
Fashioning a Device
In order to safely retrieve the squirrel, we're going to fashion a unique device!
Mulit-Catch
We installed a multi-catch over the access point and temporarily enclosed it off with hardware cloth. The multi-catch has one-way installed on each end, which allows the squirrels to safely enter the device, but prevents them from leaving.
Baited Devices
We also placed several baited devices nearby. Once we safely retrieve all the squirrels, we will relocate them to a new, humane environment and disinfect the attic area. Although we offered to replace the gable vent for the homeowner, she decided that she will replace it on her own once the squirrels are removed.
