Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Leaky Chimney Gets Sealed in Bradley Beach, NJ
A homeowner in Bradley Beach, NJ thought that he might have raccoons in his attic.
No Raccoons
We inspected the roof and the attic area and found no signs of raccoons, but we did notice that the chimney flues were in bad shape.
Potential Issues
After years of being exposed to the elements, the chimney flues were a wreck. Not only is this a potential access point for nuisance wildlife, but water can easily seep into the gaps!
Use Crown Seal
We're going to fix them up by using Crown Seal. Crown seal is a proprietary, trowel-grade, elastomeric coating that forms a flexible, waterproof membrane to repair and protect chimney crowns from water intrusion.
The Chimney Cap
We also installed a chimney cap! This material is constructed out of 24 Gauge Top and Flange, and 18 Gauge Mesh!
Protected
Now the chimney won't have any water issues and the chimney cap will prevent any nuisance wildlife or birds from entering the home.
