Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Water Damaged Roof Line Attracts Raccoon in Long Branch, NJ
This homeowner in Long Branch, NJ called our office after hearing "suspicious" critter noises in his attic late at night.
Raccoon Damage
As I was about to start my inspection, I saw a large hole in the roof line. I inspected and determined that a raccoon had invaded this home. The roof line had excessive water damage to it, due to the gutters being clogged. This presented a perfect opportunity for the raccoon to rip apart the roof and enter the attic.
One-Way Device
I installed a one-way device directly over the access point and temporarily enclosed it with hardware cloth. The one-way allows the raccoon to safely leave the area, but is designed to prevent it from re-entering. I also set-up several placement traps nearby.
Raccoon Remove & Roofline Replaced
A short while later, we safely retrieved the raccoon and relocated it to a new, humane location. Afterwards, I repaired the damaged area with sturdy metal flashing.
Better Than Before
In order to make the roof look exactly like it did before, I matched the color of the roof with an asphalt granular and applied it to the metal flashing, that way it blends in with the roof.
