Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Raccoon Rampage in Rumson, NJ
A resident in Rumson, NJ contacted Cowleys after hearing loud noises in their attic late at night. We had a suspicion that it was raccoons since they are nocturnal and have been known to forage late at night and reside in homeowners attic. Regardless, we still needed to perform a thorough inspection to be sure.
It was Raccoons
After conducting a thorough inspection we found the main access point. The damage inflicted here was evident that it was from raccoons. That and there was also raccoon hairs stuck in the soffit.
Put Up a One-Way
We placed a one-way device over the access point and placed aluminum tape on the end of the trap. A one-way device allows a raccoon to safely leave the attic, but prevent it from getting back in. The tape on the end of the trap will help us monitor the activity. We will periodically check up on the device and the broken tape will tell us that a raccoon has left the attic.
Another One
We also set-up a baited trap on the roof, by the main access point. In a short amount of time, the raccoon was safely removed from the attic.
Good as New
After the raccoon was safely evicted and relocated we closed up the area and reinforced it so no further animals could access this area.
