Pests We Treat - Rodents Entry Old Utility Pipe in Commercial Building in Freehold, NJ

It is very common in the winter months in New Jersey businesses to find mice in their commercial establishment. Mice can sneak in through the smallest crevices in search of food and water. As a business owner you’ve got to be vigilant and make it tough for them. These lucky mice found the perfect water supply under the sink. One of my commercial accounts has a series of plastic PVC conduit pipeline around their establishment that is no longer in use. Or so they thought!

After a thorough inspection I found several open pipes with rodent droppings around them, under and behind the bar as well as utility closets. I used a copper mesh material to seal the entry points and deter the mice from those areas. One of the pipes (as seen in the video) had a leaking drain due to loose connections of the piping.  Mice love water, it's the key to their life. Why not pop out of your nice warm nest and drink fresh water before returning to hiding?

Pest control isn't always about chemical applications.  Sometimes the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) philosophy is by far and away the best way to go. I'll be back next week to inspect again and see what's become of the pesky rodents
