Pests We Treat - Bye Bye Flies in Toms River, NJ
Now that the warm weather is here, so are the flies! Any piece of decaying organic matter becomes a flies happy place and unfortunately for these clients in Toms River, NJ, their garbage cans were certainly a happy place for these flies.
In order to prevent flies from infesting your garbage cans, make sure to thoroughly wash out your garbage cans with an enzyme designed to break down decaying organic matter. Also, keep standing water off of the lids of the can.
For treatment, I applied a fly bait around the lip of the trash can as well as around the areas where flies like to land. Within 2 minutes of applying the fly bait, a green head decided to land and feed. The bait was so effective and fast acting that within 10 minutes over 50 flies were eliminated. The client was happy, but I reiterated that cleaning the cans would still be the best course of action because the flies won't be attracted to the areas in the first place. He agreed and we both watched as the flies as kept dropping.
