Pests We Treat - Wasps Sneak Into Home in Farmingdale, NJ
A homeowner in a residential community we service in Farmingdale, NJ noticed a constant flurry of wasps entering and leaving a gap in the soffit above the landing in the building where his unit was located. While these particular wasps usually nest in the ground, they sometimes, like here, will build a nest in a building void Gaps around utility lines going into structures are a common wasp nesting location.
Before I treated the nest with a residual dust, I warned homeowners who happened to be around the building that day during my treatment, that, over the next few hours, once the nest was treated, any returning wasps would be even more aggressive. As the wasps return to the nest and are exposed to the application, the insect population will decline quickly. It would only take several hours before all of the wasps were dead and the nest was completely inactive. We can only bag and remove a nest from a property when it is safe to do so — which means that the colony must first be killed.
