Pests We Treat - Cockroach clean out service in Neptune, NJ | Roach control & removal in NJ
During my periodic servicing of a Cowleys commercial account, a Neptune restaurant, I observed roaches crawling out of a box. This particular restaurant has fastidious sanitation protocols, so I was surprised to see cockroach activity in their kitchen. Upon further inspection, I saw that boxes that were harboring roaches, and lots of them. I immediately discussed the problem with the owner. He informed me that he had just received these boxes of food products from a supplier. I inspected the rest of the delivery, and sure enough, the other boxes contained roach droppings and egg casings. Unfortunately, roaches spread quickly and there were already roaches on monitors that I keep placed throughout the restaurant’s kitchen.
It was lucky that my periodic maintenance scheduling coincided with this delivery, so I could nip this problem in the bud before the infestation level climbed. I recommended to the owner that I should perform a roach clean-out to thoroughly resolve the problem now. He instructed me to do whatever it takes to make sure his kitchen is roach-free. While the owner was pleased that Cowleys was able to handle this insect problem before it got worse, he was visibly annoyed that one of his suppliers delivered a shipment infested with roaches. I was not there to listen to the phone call that he was going to have with this supplier, but my guess is that I could not print everything he would say! The lesson for restaurant owners, and for that matter any business with incoming shipments, is to inspect the boxes as soon as you get them, and preferably in an area where any hitchhiking insects can be isolated. Even if your business has the best sanitation protocols in place, your suppliers may not. The last thing any business needs, especially a restaurant, is to have a roach or other insect infestation problem hand-delivered right into its facility.
