Pests We Treat - Fly Makes Its Home on Dumpster in Shrewsbury, NJ
In the dog days of a hot and humid summer, fly issues intensify as the heat rises and the aroma of decaying food hits its peak. Flies love the stench of rotting garbage as well as the meal it provides. One of my commercial accounts is forced to keep there dumpster within 10 feet of their back door which poses multiple problems with the control of flies.
1). By having the dumpsters so close to the entry point a simple opening of the door will create enough of a back draft to pull flies into the building.
2). Flies congregate where there is an over abundance of decaying food debris.
We use a commercial grade fly granular baits in conjunction with a thorough sanitation protocol to knock down the fly population relatively quickly. Treating in and around the dumpsters as well as any grease trails leading to the dumpster will drastically reduce the fly population.
