Pests We Treat Photo Album: Termite Swarmers Caught in a Spider Web in Farmingdale, NJ
This was an interesting find!
Termite Mud Tubes
We found a lot of termite mud tubes and termite swarmers throughout the wooden beams in the basement. Termites use the mud tubes to travel to and from their nest when foraging for food. These protective tubes allow the termites to stay moist underground.
Termite Swarmers Caught in the Web
We found even more termite swarmers caught in several spider webs! Termite swarmers are the winged adult reproductives that leave their current nest to form their colony. With the owner's permission, we drilled into the concrete floors, the walls, and the wooden beams throughout the basement and injected a termiticide. We also injected this application around the home's exterior too.The termiticide bind to the treated areas and create a protective zone that the termites can't detect. The termites will then come in contact with it as they go about their normal routine and transfer it throughout their colony. In a short amount of time, the termites are exterminated, and the home is protected for years to come!
As For the Spiders
Now for the spiders! Using our spider broom, we brushed away all the spider webs throughout the basement. This will eliminate their food source. After a little while, the spiders will get annoyed and start to leave. After that we applied a liquid application that is specifically labeled to exterminate spiders throughout the basement and around the entire exterior of the home.
