The Ceiling Tiles
The customer complained of hearing noises in the basement, so that's where I began my inspection. I began lifting up the ceiling tiles in several areas and found a plethora of rat droppings throughout the drop ceiling!
Hole in the Lattice
I then began my inspection on the exterior to see if I could find out where and how the rats were getting in. Moments into my inspection, I found that the rats chewed through the lattice below the deck and were gaining entrance under the deck.
Clean and Then Set Up
I carefully removed the rat droppings and set up rodent bait stations around the exterior of the home, under the deck, and in the basement and the placed rodent control devices in the drop ceiling.
Return for a Follow Up
Lastly, I scheduled several follow-up visits to monitor the rat activity and replenish the bait stations as needed. Once all the rats are removed from the property, we will properly seal up the deck area to prevent any future infestations from rats.
