Quite the Ant Infestation
Upon inspection, we found odorous house ants trailing from inside the base of a lamp, down the nightstand, across the floor, and up onto the bed.
Trailing from a Plant
Turns out, the ants were trailing from the plant that was on top of the nightstand.
Dispose of the Plant
At the owners' request, we disposed of that plant and anything else that contributed to the infestation and cleaned the area.
Spot Treating
We then spot treated the base of the legs of the bed as well as the baseboards throughout the room, with a liquid non-repellant. The ants will come in contact with this application and unknowingly spread it throughout their entire colony. Shortly after, they are eliminated.
Treat Carefully
Next, we unplugged the lamp and lightly treated the cord where it entered the base with residual aerosol, which will rapidly eliminate the ants.
