Pests We Treat Photo Album: Preventative Termite Treatment of Your Home Will Save You Thousands
A new homeowner in Neptune, NJ wanted to be proactive and have her home treated for termites.
Termite Treatment Step One: Drilling
Since termites live in the soil beneath homes, I need to treat that area with a liquid termiticide. In order to do that, I began drilling into the concrete abutting the structure.
Space Them Out
By spacing the drill holes 15 to 18 inches apart will ensure that the liquid treatment has enough room to spread out and increases the chance that the termites will come in contact with the application.
Termite Treatment Step Two: The Application
After drilling, I injected the termiticide. This application binds to the treated soil and creates a protective zone that termites cannot detect. They will come in contact with it as they go about their normal routines and transfer the treatment throughout their nest. Shortly after, the entire colony is exterminated.
Termite Treatment Step Three: Sentricon
For an even more effective treatment, at the request of the homeowner, I installed a Sentricon termite baiting stations into the soil around the entire perimeter of the home.
Guaranteed Protection from Termites
The termites will eat the cellulose material inside the baiting stations or share it with the others and ingest an insect growth inhibitor, which prevents them from being able to molt. Without being able to molt, the termites are eliminated. With both the termiticide and the Sentricon Baiting system in place, the home will be protected from termites for many years to come.
