Spotted Them
We performed a thorough inspection and found that the bed bugs had traveled through the outlets from apartment to apartment.
Tenants Never Told Anyone
The landlord made the discovery when one of the units became vacant. The previous tenants never disclosed that they were having a bed bug issue. Sometimes when people are embarrassed they try to fix the problem themselves and if that doesn't work, they just leave.
The First Few Steps
First we vacuumed all three units from top to bottom. Next, we applied a residual dust to all of the outlets as well as all the light switch receptacles. Once the bed bugs come in contact with the dust, they're quickly neutralized.
Additionally
We also performed a liquid treatment that involves fan spraying all of the crack and crevice areas around the window and door frames as well as the baseboards and all of the furniture in each apartment.
Once We Finished Treating
After everything was treated we installed the mattress and box spring encasements. This will make it easy to tell if any further bed bug activity persists. Additionally, this will seal in any bed bugs as well as prevent anything from entering. We will be returning for a two week follow up to make sure that the bed bugs are eliminated for good.
