Wet Floors & Dirty Drains
As we inspected the area, the first thing we noticed was that the floors were always wet being so close to the dishwasher machine. Not only does this create a slip, trip, and fall hazard, but also creates a harboring area for drain flies.
Found the Drain Flies
Another major problem was the floor drains - there was a buildup discarded food and debris in each drain, which in turn, led to a colony of drain flies and their larva to harbor. Drain flies live, breed, and thrive in the accumulated muck and debris in drains.
Remove, Clean, and Scrub
First, we removed all the debris and used a heavy-duty brush to thoroughly scrub every single one of the floor drains. After scrubbing, we applied a liquid application that removes the bad bacteria from the drain, which in turn, eliminates the drain fly's breeding habitat.
Foaming It
Finally, we applied a bio-foam solution that removes the organic build-up, odors, and scum in the drain.
Make Sure it Doesn't Happen Again
We repeated all these steps to every drain in the throughout the kitchen, garbage, and sink area to guarantee that every effective measure to remove the drain flies has been taken. The owner implemented a new cleaning procedure to his staff to ensure that this infestation doesn't happen again.
