Pests We Treat Photo Album: Hornets Charge at Puppy in Bradley Beach, NJ
This new client in Bradley Beach, NJ stumbled upon this hornet's nest in her backyard when she was playing with her new puppy.
There They Are
The homeowner informed me where she saw the nest, which was in a tree by her front yard. For her safety, I told her to stay away and keep her puppy inside.
Bald-Faced Hornets
As I examined the nest, I identified these stinging insects as bald-faced hornets. Bald-faced hornets are easy to recognize by their predominantly white face, black body, and aggressive attitude.
Needs to Go
The nest was very active and needed to be removed as soon as possible as bald-faced hornets can be extremely aggressive when they feel threatened.
Fast Takedown
I equipped an aerosol application to my extendable pole, inserted the application directly into the nest, and began fogging. The application quickly neutralizes the hornets on contact.
Safe Once Again
After a few moments, I removed the nest and the branch it was attached to and properly disposed of them. The homeowner and her puppy were thrilled to be able to use the backyard safely once again.
