Pests We Treat Photo Album: Ants Roaming in Rumson, NJ
While performing a routine inspection for a Home Protection Plan client in Rumson, NJ I came across ants trailing along the exterior of the home.
Pavement Ants Along the Patio
As I was about to treat the back patio area of the home I found pavement ants trailing. Pavement ants are about 1/8 to 1/16 an inch in size and are mostly brown to black in color. They primarily nest under cracks in driveways and sidewalks.
Trailing Under the Cracks
I noticed that the ants were trailing from a tiny gap under the foundation of the patio. I was concerned that the ants might have made their way inside the home, but after a full inspection, I didn't find any inside the house.
Exterior Treatment
I applied an ant gel bait along the gap in the foundation and applied a liquid application along the entire exterior as well as directly onto the ants.
Neutralization of the Colony
The ants will unknowingly transfer both these applications among the entire colony, including the queen. These treatments spread throughout the colony like a virus and in no time at all, the entire colony is eliminated.
