Pests We Treat Photo Album: Termites in Allenhurst, NJ
Yesterday, I headed over to Allenhurst, NJ, one of my favorite towns near the Jersey Shore, to treat a home for termites. This was an older home, and wood-destroying termites had infested a main support beam in the basement.

Residential Service Supervisor Scott Dellett and I worked together to develop a treatment strategy. We needed to access the soil underneath the home to kill the termite colony. The home had a high deck with concrete underneath it, but the homeowner wanted us to avoid drilling small holes through the deck.

The alternative was to drill through the basement block in order to reach the soil under the deck and concrete pad. I made small drill holes in the basement wall and then ran a soil needle rod through the block, using this route to gain access to the soil where the termites were nesting. After this procedure, I applied a protective treatment to the rest of the house.
