Large Black Ants Walking Along the Sidewalk in South Plainfield, NJ
Challenge
This homeowner in South Plainfield, NJ, called our office after noticing a large number of ants by her front door. Once we arrived, we not only found the ants by the front door, but all along the sidewalk and walkway! There were thousands of them!
Solution
First, we treated the front stoop, sidewalk, walkway, and the entire exterior of the home with a liquid non-repellent residual. Afterward, we treated the landscape and mulch beds with a granular bait. The ants the you primarily see are the worker ants. They're going to bring either of these treatments back to their colony and then transfer them to the other ants in their nest and their queen. They'll accomplish this by feeding or grooming one another or eating their own dead. In a short amount of time, the ants will be exterminated.
