Garage Torn Apart by Mice in Kendall Park, NJ
Challenge
This customer in Kendall Park, NJ immediately called our office after finding a mouse in her laundry room. Once we arrived and began our inspection, we noticed that there was a gap underneath the door that lead to the garage. We investigated and discovered that the mice had ransacked the garage! The bags of mulch and other gardening supplies had been chewed through and there were mice droppings all over the place. As we investigated further, we noticed that the couch cushions were soaked with mice urine and loaded with their droppings. The homeowner never realized what was happening in her garage because she is elder and hardly ever goes into her garage.
Solution
First, with the owners permission, we disposed of every single contaminated item and carefully cleaned the entire garage. Afterward, we installed a rodent bait station in the garage, the laundry room, and along the exterior of the home. Next, we installed an Xcluder™ door sweep under the laundry room door that led into the garage. The Xcluder™ door sweep is made from a blend of coarse stainless steel and poly fibers to form a highly resilient and impenetrable barrier. Lastly, we scheduled several follow up visits to monitor the infestation and replenish the bait stations as needed.
