Termites Coming from the Crawl Space in Tinton Falls, NJ
Challenge
After a new customer in Tinton Falls, NJ called our office complaining of termites in her bathroom, we were sent out to inspect and treat. As we inspected, we found termite swarmers in one of the bathrooms on the lower level of the home and in the utility room in the garage. Termite swarmers are the winged adult reproductives that leave their current nest to form their own colony.
We continued inspecting the home and noticed a crawl space access door next to the garage. We inspected and found active subterranean termites throughout the joists in the crawl space. This is where the majority of the infestation was coming from.
Solution
Since termites live beneath the soil, for an effective treatment, we need to treat that area. To do so, we drilled into the concrete floor in the crawl space, garage, and bathroom and injected a liquid termiticide. Afterward, we injected a foaming version of the termiticide into the wooden joists and beams in the crawl space. We also treated the entire exterior of the home with the liquid application.
Both of these treatments bind to the treated area and creates a protective zone that the termites cannot detect. The termites will come in contact with the termiticide as they go about their normal routines and transfer it throughout their colony. In a short amount of time, the termites are exterminated and the home is protected for years to come!
