Dirty Kitchen Gets Fruit Flies in Lincroft, NJ

Challenge

This business owners' kitchen in Lincroft, NJ had a severe infestation with dark-eyed fruit flies! The reason for the infestation? There were several food and beverage stains all over the wall and a massive build-up of sugary liquids and debris all over the floor.

Dark-eyed fruit flies breed in and around decaying organic matter that can be found under equipment and drains in areas that are not properly maintained. We brought these issues to the owners' attention and recommend a few, simple sanitation procedures in order to help him prevent any future pest issues. Solution

Once they finished cleaning, we treated the high infestation areas with a fly bait to control the adult fruit flies. Next, we applied a liquid application in all the floor drains and used a heavy-duty brush to thoroughly scrub them out. Afterward, we applied a bio-foam solution to all the floor drains. This application removes the organic build-up, odors, and scum in the drains. Lastly, we scheduled several follow-up visits to monitor the infestation and apply any additional treatments if needed.
