Carl Vogel
Cowleys Pest Services
Carl joined Cowleys in 2017 as our Commercial Service Manager. He replaced his brother Randy who was promoted to Operations Manager. There is a new saying in the pest control business: Two Vogels are better than one!
Carl brings a wealth of experience to Cowleys. He is enthusiastic to to help us grow our business and take it to the next level, and when the Vogel brothers are together, they are a force to be reckoned with. Carl has been in the pest control industry approaching three decades, starting before many of our field technicians were even born.
He began his career in 1999, starting from the ground floor with a small pest control service in Elizabeth. From there, he worked for several different companies where he continued to advance his training and knowledge through continuing education and training programs, and getting more field experience under his belt. Like many in the pest control business, Carl paid his dues by first working as a pest control and termite technician for many years before advancing to other positions of increasing responsibility. He was in sales and in various supervisory positions including service manager, assistant general manager, and operation manager. Carl has seen all different sides of the pest control business, and has worked with residential, commercial and community association accounts of all different sizes. He has interacted with property managers and business owners, and understands their issues and concerns, and the role of a pest control business in improving their bottom line.
Carl is a licensed NJDEP commercial pest control applicator. In addition to Core certification, he holds Category certifications 7A for general and household pest control, and 7B for termites and other wood-destroying insects.
In his spare time, Carl enjoys fishing and crabbing, mandatory summer activities for any Beachwood resident. If the weather is warm, and Carl isn’t at work, stop by Capt’n Hippo Bait and Tackle in South Toms River, and they’ll tell you where to find him. Carl also plays a mean game of billiards and any game that involves a deck of cards from serious games like poker and gin rummy to kid-friendly games like Go Fish and Crazy Eights. Also, whenever he has the chance, he enjoys cheering on his daughter who plays intercollegiate softball.
