We were sent out to the home of a new Home Protection Plan client in New Egypt, NJ to start their initial treatment service. Once we arrived and inspected the exterior of the property, we noticed some mice droppings near one of the utility pipes. This utility pipe had a rather large gap in it because it wasn't sealed properly. Since that utility pipe leads into the crawl space, we decided to check that area out. Good thing we did because we found mice feces all over the place! It was on the shelves, in the corners, and even in the insulation! In fact, almost all the insulation was saturated with mice urine and droppings! We told the owner what we found and mentioned that our Crawl Space Division can remove all the contaminated insulation, properly dispose of it, disinfect the area, and replace the insulation with new, better quality insulation. The owner was happy to hear that and, once all the mice are gone, she will call our office to make an appointment. First, we carefully cleaned up all the droppings and disposed of them. Next, we installed several rodent bait stations throughout the crawl space and along the exterior of the home. Afterward, we scheduled several follow up visits to monitor the activity and replenish the bait stations as needed. Lastly, on our next follow up visit, we're going to stuff any openings around the home with chew-proof metal mesh and then seal them with a premium, waterproof adhesive.
