Crawl Space Encapsulation Photo Album: Transforming a Wet, Filthy Crawl Space to a Clean, Healthy One in Wall Township, NJ
This homeowner in Wall Township, NJ crawl space desperately needed to be encapsulated.
Flooded Crawl Space
The homeowner had a severe water leak in her crawl space. It was repaired, but severe damage was done.
Prep It
In order to prevent mold from growing, we removed whatever flooring was left and cleaned up all the debris.
Encapsulating the Crawl Space
Next, we installed a dimpled drainage matting, which allows all excess moisture to work its way over to the new sump pump we installed. Afterward, we installed a vapor barrier.
How the Vapor Barrier Works
The vapor barrier is a 20-mil 7-ply sandwich of high and low-density polyethylene that is treated with an antimicrobial finish that protects against mold and mildew growth.
Broken Dehumidifier
We replaced this large, broken dehumidifier...
SaniDry Dehumidifier
...with a commercial-grade SaniDry dehumidifier. These dehumidifiers are maintenance-free, turn on and off automatically with a built-in hygrometer, and there is no water tray to empty or overflow.
SilverGlo™
We installed SilverGlo™, which is a waterproof foam insulation that seals the walls from outside moisture and humidity to the walls of the crawl space.
A Healthy Crawl Space
Now the homeowner has a dry, clean, and healthy crawl space.
