Coffee and Sugar Attracts Pavement Ants in North Brunswick, NJ

We were sent out on a service call for a homeowner in North Brunswick, NJ who was experiencing a problem with pavements ants on his kitchen counter. Pavement ants are about 1/8–1/16-inch long and range in color from brown to black with paler legs and antennae. Some of the distinguishing characteristics of pavement ants are a pair of spines on the back, two nodes on the petiole, grooves on the head and thorax, and 12-segmented antennae with a three-segmented club.
