Super Highway for Mice in Tinton Falls, NJ

Recently, I received a call from a new commercial client in Tinton Falls, NJ. Seems that the owner was noticing mice activity in his storage room. Once I started my inspection I noticed that the storage room is located about four feet away from the back door to his building. When I inspected the storage room door it was pretty obvious that the metal frame was rusted beyond repair. The gaps were what I like to call a "Super Highway" for rodents! Meaning the gap is so big rodents can enter the building in large numbers. Until the door frame could be replaced I'd have to make this area a construction zone to fix the mouse problem!

There are several ways to handle a rodent situation. For this job, I decided to use a rodent deterrent gel product. This product is made up of white pepper, garlic, and a few other proprietary ingredients. Mice hate both the taste and odor of this gel product. Once they encounter this product, they go the opposite way. I applied the gel along the entire door frame. I then balled up some copper mesh with some gel bait inside of it and placed it in each corner of the door frame. Mice hate the taste of copper. Now we have a two-part deterrent to keep these pesky mice out!

In addition, I placed two exterior and two interior rodent stations on each side of the back door to his building. These stations contain bait that the mice love to eat. Once a mouse enters the station, they'll eat the bait, go back to their nest, and soon it'll be lights out. I scheduled a two-week follow-up to check-up on the progress. The owner was thrilled that I was able to resolve his mouse issue. I advised the owner that until the storage room door is repaired, he will continue to have a mouse issue. He assured me that he has scheduled a repair and someone will come to fix the back door ASAP.
