Photo Album: Termites Decimating Crawl Space in Freehold, NJ
Termite Mud Tubes Discovered
As we inspected the crawl space, we discovered that several of the floor joists and the support beams were destroyed by termites. We also found several termite mud tubes throughout the crawl space. Mud tubes are made by the worker termites. Their purpose is to protect the termites from the exterior elements when traveling from their colony to a food source.
These Termites Cause the Most Damage
Subterranean termites can cause the most damage of any termite species. They eat wood 24 hours a day, seven days a week and over time, subterranean termites can critically damage a building structure!
Injecting a Termiticide
With the owner's permission, we injected a foaming termiticide into all the floor joists and support beams throughout the crawl space. Next, we drilled into the concrete walls and flooring and injected a liquid version of the termiticide.
Termites Can't Detect It
We also injected the liquid termiticide around the entire exterior of the home. Both versions of these applications bind to the treated areas and creates a protective zone that the termites can't detect. As the termites go about their business and come in contact with the termiticides, they'll bring them back to their colony.
Spreading it Like a Virus
As they transfer these treatments throughout their nest it'll spread like a virus and in short amount of time, the termites will be exterminated!
