Photo Album: Carpenter Ants Pouring Out of the Baseboard in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ
We were sent out to a home in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ to handle a potential ant infestation.
Found the Ants
As soon as we inspected the living room, we found the ants pouring out of the baseboards!
They Were Carpenter Ants
Upon closer inspection, we identified them as carpenter ants! Carpenter ants are wood-destroying insects that occasionally build their nest inside a home, seeking out water-damaged, decaying wood that they can easily excavate. In doing so, they can seriously damage the structure of the home.
Treatment for Carpenter Ants
For treatment, we injected a knockdown aerosol application behind the baseboards. This will exterminate the carpenter ants quickly as well as flush them out of hiding. Next, with the owners permission, we treated the baseboards of the living room (and the entire exterior of the home) with a liquid non repellant residual. Lastly, we treated the landscape with a granular bait.
How the Treatment Spreads
The worker carpenter ants are going to come in contact with these applications and return to their colony. There, they will transfer the treatments to the other ants and their queen. A short while later, the carpenter ants will be exterminated.
