Photo Album: Green Lawn Gets Wrecked by Digger Bees in Somerset, NJ

Hefty Infestation
As you can see, the homeowner had quite a massive digger bee infestation on his landscape!

Known to Ruin Lawns
Digger bees are mostly shiny metallic or dark in color, but some have markings of white, yellow or reddish-brown. They are notoriously known to cause extensive damage to a lawn.

Look for the Mounds with the Hole
They typically nest in areas of the landscape where the grass is sparse or very thin. If you notice a little mound of soil with a pencil-sized hole in it, you may have a digger bee infestation! They aren't aggressive and will only sting if they're directly handled or stepped on, but since a number of the mounds were located right by the pool, this created a dangerous situation for the owner and her kids.

Digger Bees Exterminated
We injected a residual dusting application into each one of the digger bee mounds. Afterward, we applied a granular bait to every single one. Both of these treatments will rapidly exterminate all the digger bees!
