Photo Album: Pavement Ant Colony Underneath Rodent Bait Station in Island Heights, NJ
We found a large colony of pavement ants underneath one of our rodent bait stations at this property in Island Heights, NJ.
Relaxing Under the Bait Station
As we were replenishing the bait in the rodent bait stations, we found one that had a gigantic pavement ant colony underneath it!
Agressive Ants
Pavement ants are 1/16 to 1/8 inch long and dark brown to black in color. They get their name because they are commonly found under pavement, where they build their colony. They are aggressive to other ants and will fight for their territory
These Treatments will Help
We applied a granular bait to this area as well as to the entire landscape around the property. Once we finished, we treated the exterior of the home with a liquid non-repellant residual.
Ants Share the Treatments
The pavement ants will come in contact with both of these products and take them back to their nest. Once they're back at their nest they will then transfer the treatments to the other ants in their colony as well as their queen. In a short amount of time, the pavement ants will be exterminated.
