Photo Album: Converted Garage Loaded with Termites in Basking Ridge, NJ
Found While Remolding
The owner was renovating the converted garage. As he tore up the carpet, he found termites!
To Reach the Termites
Since termites live beneath the soil, with the owner's permission, we drilled into flooring of the converted garage as well as around the entire exterior of the building.
Proper Spacing
When drilling, it's imperative that we space the holes at least 15-18 inches apart. This ensures that the treatment has room to spread out and increases the chance that the termites will walk through the application.
Inject Termiticide
When we finished drilling, we injected a liquid termiticide into each one of the drill holes in the converted garage as well as around the entire exterior of the home. This treatment binds to the treated areas and creates a protective zone that the termites can't detect.
Termites Transfer the Termiticide
As the termites go about their routine, they'll come in contact with the termiticide and bring it back to their colony. They will then unknowingly transfer it throughout their colony, and in short amount of time, the termites will be exterminated.
