Photo Album: Sparrows Nesting in the Roof of the Loading Dock in Montgomery, NJ
A Health Hazard for the Employees
The sparrows were roosting and defecating all over the loading dock, causing quite a mess. This was creating both a health hazard and a slip, trip, fall hazard for all the employees.
The Solution is Bird Netting
So to properly, safely, and effectively exclude the area, we're going to install a bird netting.
Anchored the Steel Cables
In order make sure the bird netting is secured, we're using a stainless steel cable with net spikes and are anchoring it into the walls.
Secured
We're then going to lock the cables in place using copper ferrules and then install turnbuckles which tighten the cable.
Heavy Duty Polyethylene Bird Netting
Bird netting is a 3/4 inch, heavy duty polyethylene bird netting that's used to humanely block the sparrows from entering any unwanted areas.
Sparrows Will Move On
It creates an impenetrable barrier that denies the sparrows, as well as all nuisance birds, the access to this area and removes the landing areas for them. They'll fly around, realize they can't enter, and move on.
Can't Even See It
As an added bonus, the bird netting is almost invisible, unless you take a real close look at it. Now all nuisance birds will no longer be able to roost in the loading dock.
