Photo Album: Stopping the Skunks from Harboring Under the Shed in Kendall Park, NJ Now that we safely removed the skunks from underneath the shed, we need to prevent them from getting back in. Multiple Entry Points There were multiple skunk burrows around the shed. Digging a Trench To exclude the skunks from the shed, we dug a 12 inch deep trench... Installed Sturdy Hardware Cloth ...and installed hardware cloth. The hardware cloth is installed 12 inches deep and 12 inches out from the bottom of the shed. The "L" Shape This creates a sturdy "L shaped" perimeter that will prevent skunks, and other nuisance wildlife, from digging and nesting underneath the shed.
