Photo Album: Lots of Carpenter Ants in the Bedroom Closet in Colts Neck, NJ
Carpenter Ants in the Closet
As we began our inspection in the bedroom, we found a ton of carpenter ants in the closet!
Quick Info on Carpenter Ants
Carpenter ants are wood-destroying insects and received their name because they excavate wood in order to build their nests. Carpenter ants build their nest inside a home, seeking out water-damaged, decaying wood that they can easily excavate. In doing so, they can seriously damage the structure of the home.
Flush Out the Carpenter Ants
Since the carpenter ants were coming from the baseboards in the closet, we treated the area with an aerosol application. This will flush them out of hiding and eliminate them quickly.
Residual Application
At the owners request, we treated the bedroom closet, the hallway, and the entire exterior with a liquid non-repellant application. We also treated the grassy area with a granular bait.
Carpenter Ants Exterminated
Once the worker ants come in contact with either of these products, they'll return to their colony & unknowingly share these treatments throughout their nest. A short while later, the carpenter ants are exterminated.
