Photo Album: Leave Your Cat Food Out and You'll Get Ants in Dayton, NJ
This goes to show you what happens when you leave your cat food out overnight!
Infested with Pavement Ants
The living room was infested with pavement ants!
The Cat Food
Turns out that the pavement ants were attracted to the cat food that was left out overnight. This is why we always recommend that you remove your pets food dishes once they're done eating.
Pavement Ants
Pavement ants are about 1/8 of an inch long and are dark brown to black in color. Their name comes from nesting under sidewalks and driveways and piling dirt removed from the nest in a mound on top of the pavement, often located between sidewalk cracks.
Treatment for Pavement Ants
We treated the baseboards, cracks, and crevices of the living room, the two adjacent rooms, and the entire exterior of the home with a liquid residual.
Transferring the Applications
The ants will unknowingly come in contact with this treatment, bring it back to their nest, and share it with other ants in their colony as well as their queen. A short while alter, the ants will be exterminated
