Photo Album: Termite Swarmers & Mud Tubes Found at Home in Little Silver, NJ
This Home Protection Plan client in Little Silver, NJ thought that she had flying ants in her home. Turns out they were termites!
Those Are Termites Swarmers
Once we inspected the living room, we immediately realized that these weren't flying ants but termite swarmers! Termite swarmers are the winged adult reproductives that leave their current nest to form their colony.
Termiticide
For treatment, we drilled into the wall in the living room and injected a foaming termiticide. Next, we drilled into the concrete in the crawl space floor and walls, as well as around the home's exterior, and injected a liquid version of the termiticide.
Spreads Like a Virus
Both of these treatments bind to the treated areas and create a protective zone that the termites can't detect. The termites will then come in contact with the termiticide as they go about their normal routines and transfer it throughout their colony. In a short amount of time, the termites are exterminated, and the home is protected for years to come!
Found Mud Tubes
Since the owner had a crawl space, we decided to inspect that area. We found active termite mud tubes in the crawl space minutes into our inspection! Mud tubes are pencil-width-size tubes made by the worker termites that the termites use to travel to and from their nest when foraging for food.
