Photo Album: Kitchen Gets Taken Over by German Cockroaches in Oakhurst, NJ
We recently treated an apartment in Oakhurst, NJ for German cockroaches.
Follow Up Treatments
Lastly, we placed several monitoring devices throughout the apartment and scheduled several follow-up visits to monitor the infestation and, if needed, apply any additional treatments.
In the Kitchen
Since most of the infestation was reported to be in the kitchen, with the landlord's permission, we checked behind the fridge's motor box and underneath the oven and found a large infestation of cockroaches!
Can't Reproduce
First, with the landlord's permission, we carefully disposed of all the contaminated items in the kitchen. Afterward, we treated the kitchen and other harborage areas with an EPA-registered insect growth regulator combined with a residual product. This treatment affects the cockroaches' reproductive system and prevents them from reaching adulthood.
Aerosol is Next
Next, we applied a knockdown aerosol product to every crack, crevice, appliance, and baseboard throughout the apartment. This product flushed the cockroaches out of hiding into the growth regulator and rapidly exterminated them.
