Photo Album: Keeping the Raccoons Out From Under the Porch in Bayville, NJ
Here's how we're going to exclude the raccoon from under the porch.
Very Positive
The hardware cloth is installed 12 inches deep and 12 inches out from the bottom of the home. This creates a sturdy "L-shaped" perimeter that will prevent raccoons and other nuisance wildlife from digging and nesting underneath the house. Shortly after setting up our device, we safely retrieved the raccoon and relocated it to a new, humane environment.
Right Here
The raccoons were harboring underneath the porch. To safely retrieve the raccoons, we installed a nose cone directly over the access point and attached a two-gaited, heavy-duty device to it. We then dug a 12 inch deep trench and then installed hardware cloth.
The Lattice
We then removed our retrieval device and installed more hardware cloth. Afterward, we closed the gap underneath the porch with a sturdy 2x10 and installed two lattice layers.
