Photo Album: Yellow Jackets Found Under the Fire Hydrant in Holmdel, NJ
The residents at the condominium association in Holmdel, NJ were complaining about their dogs getting stung by yellow jackets near the fire hydrant.
Under the Fire Hydrant
As we inspected the area, we noticed that the yellow jackets were going in and out of a small burrow underneath the fire hydrant. Turns out, that's where they were nesting!
Let's Talk About Yellow Jackets
Yellow jackets are aggressive, territorial wasps, with distinctive yellow-and-black coloration, that are known for their propensity to sting anyone and anything that they perceive as a threat, such as those who venture too close to their nests or their food!
Precise Treatment
We injected a knockdown aerosol and a knockdown dusting application into the burrow, which will exterminate the yellow jackets almost immediately.
Dug Out the Nest
After several moments, we dug out the nest, disposed of it, and filled in the burrow.
