Photo Album: Humid Temperatures Causes Ants to Nest in a Termite Bait Station in Barnegat, NJ
With the hot temperatures and little rain, these ants are getting desperate to nest in our termite bait stations!
Not Termites, but Ants
As we were inspecting the termite bait stations around this home, we found one that was loaded with ants and their eggs!
Trying to Stay Cool
With the heat wave that has hit NJ and the severe lack of rainfall has caused the ants to get desperate and try to find a moisture source in our bait stations.
Now to Treat for Ants
We're going to treat this area with a granular bait and then apply a liquid residual to this area and along the entire exterior of the home.
The Ants Will Be Eliminated
The ants will come in contact with either of these applications and return to their nest to share them with each other and their queen. By doing this, the treatments will rapidly spread throughout their colony and a short while later, they are exterminated.
