Photo Album: Odorous House Ants Using the Bathroom in Colts Neck, NJ
We found a lot of odorous house ants in this bathroom!
Behind the Toilet
We found a large number of ants trailing along the wall to the rear of the toilet. Upon closer inspection, we identified them as odorous house ants.
Smelly Ants
Odorous house ants are tiny ants that emit a rotten coconut smell then they are crushed or startled.
Inside the Toilet Tank
When we lifted the tank cover, we found that the ants were congregating inside the toilet tank.
Shared Throughout the Nest
We applied an ant gel bait in and around the tank where the ants were trailing. The ants will bring this treatment back to their nest and share it throughout their colony. A short while later, the ants will be exterminated
