Photo Album: Mice in the Kitchen Were Coming from the Basement in Martinsville, NJ
From the Basement
During our inspection, we discovered that the mice were coming up from the basement on the water lines and playing in the back of the cabinets.
Highway for Mice
As we checked underneath the kitchen sink in the basement where the water pipes are, we found a lot of mouse droppings and mouse tunnels throughout the insulation.
Around the A/C Line
We then inspected the exterior of the home and found several gaps around the utility pipes as well as a large exposed gap around the A/C line. We offered to seal this opening for the homeowner, but he mentioned that he will seal it up on his own.
Monitor and Replenish
We carefully cleaned up the droppings and installed several rodent bait stations throughout the kitchen, the sill plates in the basement, and along the exterior of the home. Next, we stuffed all exposed gaps around the utility pipes with chew-proof metal mesh and then sealed them with a waterproof adhesive. Lastly, we scheduled several follow-up inspections to monitor the mice activity and replenish the bait stations as needed.
