Photo Album: Massive Fruit Fly Larvae Found in Basement in Manahawkin, NJ
Flying Around the Basement
During our inspection, we noticed a number of fruit flies hovering in the basement. We examined further and found a massive infestation underneath the steps by the basement doors.
Water Intrusion
A short while ago, there was flooding in the basement. Although the owner addressed it immediately, this caused all the products and produce to get contaminated, which led to the fruit fly infestation.
Dry it Out
The owner had his staff remove any and all contaminated materials and clean up the area.
Now It's Cowleys Turn
Afterward, we scrubbed out all the drains and applied a liquid application and a bio-foam solution. Both of these applications will remove the fruit fly larvae and all the organic buildup in the drains.
Remove the Fruit Flies
Next, we applied a growth regulator to the area that will interrupt the flies' reproduction cycle. Lastly, we scheduled several follow-up visits to monitor the infestation and, if necessary, apply any additional treatments until the building is free of fruit flies.
