Photo Album: That's Not a Stick, it's a Bug in Montgomery, NJ
During a seasonal service for one of our Home Protection Plan clients in Montgomery, NJ, we found an interesting pest on the side of the home.
Stick Bug
While inspecting the home, we found a stick bug, otherwise known as the Walking Leaf pest.
Camouflage Abilities
The Walking Leaf is a bug that looks like a stick and appears to resemble a twig. It has unique camouflage qualities to protect itself from its predators, even swaying like a twig in the wind!
They are Vegetarians
They are herbivorous and don't bite or sting humans or other insects, nor are they poisonous. They are actually good for the environment and feed on foliage, which may benefit new plant growth.
To the Garden
We gently moved this beneficial pest to the garden and resumed treating the property.
