Photo Album: Soda Gun Full of Fruit Flies in Beachwood, NJ
After shutting down suddenly due to a severe storm, this commercial building in Beachwood, NJ, had a bad fruit fly infestation.
In the Soda Gun
As we began inspecting the area, we noticed a large gathering of fruit flies hovering near the soda gun. We took a closer look and found a plethora of fruit flies and their larvae inside the soda gun!
Fast Breeders
Although the business was closed for a few days, once fruit flies begin reproducing, the females are able to lay hundreds of eggs that will hatch in as little as 24-30 hours!
Fruit Fly Treatment
We thoroughly cleaned the soda gun, scrubbed out all floor drains, and then treated them with a liquid product that removes the bad bacteria from the drains. The bad bacteria is the breeding ground for the fruit flies. Once that is eliminated, so are the fruit flies.
Exterminate the Fruit Flies
Then we treated all the drains with a bio-foam solution that eliminates all fly-attracting odors. Lastly, we applied a fly bait product around the area to eliminate any active fruit flies.
