Photo Album: Drain Flies Feed on the Organic Debris in Kendall Park, NJ
Due to a severe storm, this commercial establishment in Kendall Park, NJ had to temporarily shut down. When everyone returned to work, the business was taken over by drain flies!
Wet, Dirty Floors
Unfortunately, some flooding had occurred throughout the area and the combination of that and the debris lead to a drain fly infestation.
Under the Equipment
Continuing our inspection, we found even more gunk and debris underneath the equipment. It's imperative to continually inspect and clean underneath or behind the kitchen equipment (refrigerator, ovens, dishwashers, etc) regularly in order to prevent gunk and debris from building up.
They Started to Clean
We informed the owner about the sanitation issues and he and his crew immediately began removing the equipment and cleaning the area.
Now For Our Treatment
After they cleaned, we scrubbed out all the drains in the area and treated them with a liquid product that removes the bad bacteria, which is the breeding ground for the drain flies.
Eliminated
Next, we treated the drains with a bio-foam solution that eliminates all fly-attracting odors. Lastly, we applied a fly bait product around the area to eliminate the active drain flies.
