Photo Album: Subterranean Termites Found in Foundation of Home in Middletown, NJ
While treating one of our customers in Middletown, NJ, I found active subterranean termites along the foundation of the home.
Hiding in the Mulch Bed
During our treatment, we noticed "little white dots" in the mulch bed bordering the home. Upon closer inspection, we realized that these were termites!
Subterranean Termites
Subterranean termites live underground in colonies and will infest your structure from the ground up. They will enter a home because it provides the two things Subterranean termites need to survive: food and moisture. Termites enter homes in search of wood on which to feast and prosper in homes with a moisture source like leaks or condensation.
Shift Gears
After inspecting the inside of the home and not finding any signs of termites, we injected a termiticide around the entire foundation of the home and the mulch bed. The termiticide binds to the treated area and creates a protective zone that the termites can't detect.
Home Protected
Once they come in contact with the application, they'll transfer it among their nest. The application then spreads like a virus throughout the colony and in a short amount of time, the termites are exterminated and the home will be termite-free and protected for many years to come.
